A new report from CoreLogic, in a June 5, 2017 article featured in the Tampa Bay Business Journal, shows that a large number of homes in the greater Tampa Bay area are potentially at risk for storm surge damage.
As we head into the 2017 hurricane season, this is important information for property owners throughout Florida to be aware of as it can impact property sales, investments and valuations. It’s certainly important information for insurers who provide coverage in Florida, as well as companies whose lines of service fall within the reconstruction and building industry.
In a separate article from the Tampa Bay Business Journal, “the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration projected 11 to 17 tropical storms between June 1 and November 30, the annual period known as hurricane season. The government agency said it predicts as many as four of those storms will become ‘major’ hurricanes.”
